It has been 13 years since Father Fabian Belay, Pinina, and Candela, began to bring to life the idea of creating a place for homeless individuals, who also faced substance abuse issues. Over the years, their work and dedication transformed the project into a "hug of love," extending support to young people, adolescents, children, and women who have experienced gender-based violence.
On Saturday, May 20th, the initial step that led to the establishment of 32 facilities was commemorated with a charity lunch attended by directors, members, and notable political figures who have long supported the initiative. The event took place at El Mirador restaurant.
During the event, Eugenia Del Ponte, the current president of the Padre Misericordioso Association, expressed her gratitude for "the commitment and love that the entire community has for the most vulnerable", and invited everyone to join in singing the traditional happy birthday song. Additional remarks were made by Miguel Tessandori, a city councilor from Rosario, and Marcelo Lewandosky, a national senator, who both praised the work that Father Fabián Belay coordinates across various neighborhoods in the city and in Granadero Baigorria.
Although Father Fabián was unable to attend due to health issues, his words were shared through a video that narrated the community's story and objectives. The video also featured testimonies from recovered young people who now work in the Community.

In addition to the lunch, a charity fashion show was held on Tuesday, May 23, at the University Cultural Centre, where various local brands showcased their Autumn-Winter 2023 collections. Participating brands included Anna Rossatti, Belle De Noit, Ovain Joyas, Leborsé, Maria Emilia Marotto, De La Vera Cruz, Kosiuko, Maria Castagno Joyas, and Jula Moró.
The event featured the renowned designer Iaia Cano, who graciously accepted the invitation to visit our city, and collaborated with the initiative closing the fashion show.
To everyone's surprise, the event concluded with the presentation of a unique creation made by students from the Rosario School of Design. It was inspired by the various wishes of the young people and children supported by Padre Misericordioso. The design was called the "Dress of Wishes."
The fashion show was also organized by members of the association under the guidance of Melisa Banchio, a local professional in fashion event coordination.
The proceeds from both events were allocated to the nine children's centers currently run by Padre Misericordioso, aimed at reducing inequalities. The funds will ensure that over 500 children have a safe and supportive space, with building improvements to mitigate the effects of winter.
