Padre Misericordioso

Buen Pastor to host Christmas Eve Dinner once again

In collaboration with the Archdiocese of Rosario, the Padre Misericordioso Community will once again celebrate Christmas Eve with a barbecue, welcoming people who are homeless or alone. This year's motto is “May We All Celebrate,” and the event will feature the presence of Archbishop Eduardo Martín.

Christmas Eve Dinner for the homeless will be held again this Saturday, December 24, at the Buen Pastor Shelter. The event aims to ensure that no homeless individual has to face the Christmas holidays alone.

The idea was born thirteen years ago due to the increasing vulnerability experienced by men and women living on the streets and/or falling into indiscriminate drug and alcohol abuse. Since then, many of them have managed to surround themselves with supportive people and collectively overcome these adverse situations.

At the Padre Misericordioso Community, we believe that inclusion of the most marginalized extends beyond just providing a meal. Our mission is to restore the humanity that has been lost due to the significant inequalities in our society.

Thus, sharing a Christmas Eve dinner takes on a deeper significance: it’s about equalizing and dignifying individuals and making them feel truly included. That is why the motto for 2022 remains “May We All Celebrate,”, as no one deserves social exclusion.

How to contribute

To make the Christmas Eve dinner possible, we are accepting both material and financial donations to meet the needs of our guests.

You can contribute by bringing one or two sodas to the Buen Pastor Shelter (Gálvez 777) from Monday to Friday, between 3 PM and 8 PM, or by making a $900 donation to the following account ALIAS: Padre.Misericordioso.

This Christmas Eve let’s ensure that everyone can join in the celebration. Welcoming Christmas and Jesus means welcoming everyone. Help us make sure the most marginalized can experience the joy of the season just like you.
